No Turning Back

Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

What does it mean to FOLLOW Jesus? This is a question that has been plaguing me for a few weeks now. Can we ever truly know what it means? Are we to DO the things he did? Are we to SAY the things he said? Is following him synonymous with being LIKE him? OR is it a continual process of renewing and refreshing, revealing his ways and his will? Is it a process of listening to his word and obeying his direction?

All these questions, my desire to KNOW, has been the driving force behind studying, planning, and preparing for December’s First Wednesday (Wednesday, December 7 at 6:30pm).

He’s called me to follow him…he’s called you. I want to FOLLOW him. I want to KNOW him. Do you? Let’s light up this city, this county, this state.
