The elder, to the chosen lady and her children, whom I love in truth—and not I only, but also all who know the truth—
2 John 1:1 NIV
What a great way to open a letter. I love John’s choice of words. The chosen lady and her children. The CHOSEN lady. Her CHILDREN. It’s poetic. It leaves room for debate, for discussion.
Who is the CHOSEN lady?
Who are her CHILDREN?
I think of the love I have for my wife, my bride, and it blows me away to think that the love Jesus has for HIS bride is exponentially GREATER! I wonder if he still looks upon her the same. I mean, he DIED for her. He CHOSE her to change the world, to be a beacon of light, a ray of hope.
Is she?
Are we?
Am I?
