This morning you woke up with something in mind, something in mind to do, to accomplish, to complete, to get done…something had your attention from the moment you regained consciousness.
Scrolling through your mental checklist, your daily to-do list, what is it that has already captured your attention, what is it that has already captured your heart, what is it that has already asserted itself as the compass that will direct your day?
My son, give me your heart, And let your eyes observe my ways.
Proverbs 23:26 NKJV
Going to bed full of worry, contemplating tomorrow’s tasks leads to restless nights and anxious mornings. Heart racing. Thoughts overwhelming. What to do? Where to go? Who to see?
Often times the things we believe NEED to get done are merely distractions from what He WANTS us to do.
God says, “give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.”
Starting your day off right means starting your day off with Him. He should be your what, where, who, how, and when. He should be your first, your last, your everything. Will you release some of that control? Will you allow God to lead?
His plans for your life far surpass your own (Jeremiah 29:11).
