Insanity is defined as doing the same thing again and again and again expecting different results.
Denial is believing you’ve never experienced insanity.
Just this morning I chuckled as I opened the dryer and started to sift through CLEAN clothes, looking for a pair of socks…for the third morning in a row. THAT’S insanity! What was I expecting? I was expecting the dryer to be EMPTY, the clothes to be folded, to be placed in my drawer…to be somewhere OTHER than the dryer.
Yet all I was trying to do was OPEN and CLOSE the dryer. That was the extent to which I wanted to help. Like I was praying for God to do my laundry. Or, most likely, I’ve been lazy, expecting SOMEONE ELSE to do my work FOR me.
Sometimes, to break the cycle of insanity, you have to OWN YOUR PART and make a change. For me, I gotta stop going for my socks and finally fold the laundry.
What is your PART?
What is it that you need to OWN?
What is it that you need to CHANGE today?
You can stay stuck doing the same thing again and again OR you can finally ask God to help you break the cycle and own your part.
