Some of the most dangerous times in my life have been when I listened more to MYSELF than GOD. Chances are you can relate. I get caught up in the busyness of life, work, family, or whatever, rushing from one thing to the next, my mind racing with plans and thoughts, and I’m so focused I’m barely present.
Now I say these moments are dangerous because at no point in time am I thinking, “Thank you, God, for giving me the ability to do this,” or “God, please help me.” I’m just going. I’m just running. I’m just doing. I would like to suggest that sometimes I do things the hard way simply because I’m unwilling to acknowledge God as God and allow Him to have His way. Stubborn? Maybe.
Do you have difficulty resting?
How often do you take a break?
When you stop do you feel like there’s still something to do?
Are you sleeping at night?
Are you consumed with thoughts of today and plans for tomorrow?
Stressed?
Anxious?
Chances are it’s time to SLOW DOWN. It’s time to TRUST GOD. It’s time to allow Him to do the things only He can do. It’s time to change your perspective. He is your PROVIDER and your PROVISION. He is your STRENGTH. He is your WISDOM. He is your REST.
What’s the situation? What’s going on in your life right now that you simply haven’t handed over to God? What are you still trying to control? Is it time to take a break?
