The Truth Will Set You Free

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 8:32 NKJV

Jesus tells us the TRUTH will set us FREE! Who doesn’t want that? Who doesn’t want FREEDOM?

I have a rule with my kids: tell me the TRUTH and you will not get in trouble (you’ll be FREE); tell me a LIE and you will be punished (OPPOSITE of free).

Even with this rule, even with the promise of FREEDOM, my children still choose to lie and deny and live as prisoners to bad choices. My kids aren’t the only ones susceptible to lying; I’m simply around them more than others. Heck, I look back to when I was a kid and I’m pretty sure every other word that escaped my mouth was a lie.

Take a few moments this morning and write down and reflect on the different areas of your life that could use a heavy dose of TRUTH.

Reflect:

• What is it about TRUTH that makes it so elusive?
• Knowing the TRUTH will set you free, why do you still choose to LIE?
• How would your life change if you lived honestly?
