This Project Won't Go Unfinished

Take a few minutes this morning and walk around your house. Wait; don’t go just yet, I didn’t tell you WHY I want you to do this. Walk around your house and count or write down all the “projects” you can find. I’m not talking about the laundry, I’m talking about the projects you’ve WANTED to do or possibly have STARTED but haven’t finished. I’d be willing to suggest that many of us will find a handful of unfinished projects around the house. Projects that at one time or another we were EXCITED about and couldn’t WAIT until they were done!

But the excitement faded.
The work stopped.
All that’s left is a mess we don’t want to clean up because it’s just easier to walk around it and pretend it doesn’t exist.

This may describe you and I, but it couldn’t be further from who God is. He doesn't just start things. He sees it through to the very end. He completes the task. He finishes His work.

being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
Philippians 1:6 NKJV

He won’t give up on you.
He won’t walk away from you.
He won’t walk out on you.
He’s always with you.
He’s not done with you.
He’s got something for you.
His excitement for you doesn't fade.
His love for you never fails.
He started it.
He’s gonna finish it.

Reflect:

  • What are some of the projects you’ve started in the past, but never finished?
  • What’s the significance of God both STARTING and FINISHING the good work within you?
  • Do you have the CONFIDENCE mentioned in this verse?
  • What can you do to clear up your immediate schedule and make room for your unfinished projects?
