5 Things To Do When Faced With An Impossible Situation

Here are 5 things to do when faced with an impossible situation…

#1 Realize You Can’t Do It Alone—one of the biggest setbacks to any situation, regardless of the difficulty, is believing you can do it alone. It’s tricky. You might be one of those people who can get a lot done, like more than the average person, and you can probably do it for a little while, but you won’t survive on your own. You become stressed out, overworked, overwhelmed, burned out, and alone. Save yourself from all the crap and realize you can’t do it alone.

#2 Ask For Help
—if you’re a dude, you probably read this point and immediately closed your browser or shut off your computer. Why? We don’t like asking for help. Why? We struggle with PRIDE. Pride is societies measuring stick of manliness. Don’t cry. Don’t show weakness. Don’t ask for help. Do it yourself! Right. See how far that gets you. You weren’t meant to do life alone, so don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for help when you need it. Need directions? Ask. Need a hand? Ask. Save yourself from the heart attack and ask for help.

#3 Surround Yourself With Awesome People—remember when you were in Middle School and High School, remember when you surrounded yourself with people who brought you DOWN instead of building you UP? Why? Why did you do that? You need to surround yourself with people who are smarter and handier and funnier (if that’s even possible). You need to surround yourself with people who are going to challenge you and push you and inspire you to think out of the box and chase after your crazy dream. Are you building up the people around you?

#4 Be Willing To Fail—I can’t win, so why try? Really?!? Do you really want to go there? We are raising up a generation of weenies who are unwilling to try, unwilling to put themselves out there, unwilling to attempt the impossible simply because they might FAIL. Their parents never let them fall off the bike or get a bad grade or mess up the cookies. Parents have cushioned kids so much today that failure is no longer an option. They stomped into the classroom and yell at the teacher about how they’re bad at their job and their kid is a genius. Right. Ok. Your kid doesn’t even know how to tie a shoe. HELLO! How will you EVER know what you can do it you don’t TRY? Fail FORWARD! Make PROGRESS! Try and try again!

#5 Believe God Can And Will Bring You Through It
—God has always been in the business of turning an IMPOSSIBLE situation into the POSSIBLE. He spoke a word and made the universe. He cause the earth to flood and saved a family (and a bunch of animals) in a giant boat. He caused the walls of Jericho to collapse from power walking and jazz! He walked on water. He gave sight to the blind and made the lame to walk. He raised the dead to life (no, they weren’t walkers, but actually ALIVE!). He did it before and He’ll do it again. He loves you enough to let you fail and loves you too much to leave you in your failure.
