The Holiday Season

Oh it’s getting to be that time of the year again. That time of the year when consumerism kicks into high gear and everything else seems to fade to the background. First, we get hit by Halloween. We send our kids out to collect as much candy as possible and then when they get home, we send them back out to get some more. Gimmie. Gimmie. Gimmie. Then, it’s Thanksgiving, a time when we get together with family and try and consume as much food as humanly possible (and then a little bit more). Finally, it’s Christmas. Sometimes there’s snow. Sometimes there’s not. But one thing you can always guarantee is a lot, and I mean a LOT, of shopping and spending. Gimmie. Gimmie. Gimmie.

We’re entering the season of GET, I say we flip it around and make it the season of GIVE! Let’s not be TAKERS, let’s be GIVERS! Instead of CONSUMERISM, let’s choose GENEROSITY!
