Can't Someone Else Do It?

Ever have those days when you just want someone to do it for you (and by “it” I mean whatever it is you’re doing or need to do)? It can be something as simple as washing the dishes or mowing the lawn or it can be something complex like presenting a multi-million dollar deal or figuring out Twitter. Couldn’t someone else just do it? Isn’t there someone else around who can step in for me? Can’t I just stay home? Can’t I just sleep in?

Isn’t it your responsibility?

Yikes. That might as well be a cussword. Who likes that word? It’s heavy. It weighs on you. It’s a burden. Responsibility? Too many people hear that word (or FEEL that word) and run. It’s easier to HIDE than it is to HELP. How many single parents are there today? Too many.

You were created for a PURPOSE and only you can be YOU. That means you were tailor-made for SOMETHING, the question is: what is it? What is it you were made for? What is it that only you can do? Who is it that only you can reach?

Can someone else do it? Yes.
Can someone else do it better? Yes.
Will you miss out on whatever it is God has in store? Yes.

So, you can run, you can hide, you can flip off any notion of responsibility and just do what you want, but ultimately you’re the one who misses out on whatever it is God has (notice I used PRESENT TENSE) for you. I don’t want that for you and I’m sure YOU don’t want that for you. God has something BIGGER and GREATER than you can possibly imagine or fathom waiting for you if you’d simply step out in OBEDIENCE instead of running away in REGRET.

Are you ready to stop running?
Are you ready to face up to responsibility?
Are you ready to have your mind blown by God’s blessing?
