Someone Needs A Shower

We have all kinds of products designed to help us SMELL better. We have perfumes and colognes (which, by the way, if you wear TOO MUCH you smell worse than you originally did, just sayin’). We have shampoos and conditioners. We have body washes, body sprays, and body lotions. We even have deodorant—a product you apply to your body as a preventative measure against stinkiness.

We have the ability to make ourselves smell GOOD! If you’re stank, it’s by CHOICE (and we all know it and we don’t like it… but who are we to judge… bless your heart). That’s right. You and I can fix up our APPEARANCE. You and I can fix up our OUTSIDE, but we can’t touch the INSIDE.

It doesn’t matter how long you soak in the bubble bath. It doesn’t matter how hard you scrub. It doesn’t matter how many times you wash and rinse and wash and rinse and wash and rinse. It doesn’t matter. You can’t change who you are INSIDE (and believe me, we’re all a little dirty on the inside).

As long as you’re trying to fix what you can’t fix, thinking you can control it, thinking you can make it all better, you won’t leave much room for God to do what only He can do… and that’s change you from the INSIDE out.

Once you realize you CAN’T you open the door for the God who CAN.

Now, don’t take this as an excuse to stop tryin’ to make yourself smell good. A good APPEARANCE definitely helps! But it’s temporary. It fades. It goes away. Only God can make lasting change in your life. Only God can change your ETERNITY.
