Turn It Up

Maybe you’ve had someone tell you you’re being TOO LOUD.
Maybe you’ve had someone tell you you’re making TOO MUCH NOISE.
Maybe you’ve had someone tell you you need to SETTLE DOWN.
Maybe you’ve had someone tell you you’re moving around TOO MUCH.

When it comes to following Jesus there is NO GREATER REASON TO CELEBRATE! I’m serious. I get PUMPED when I see someone make a decision to accept Christ! I get PUMPED when I see someone deciding to follow Jesus and get baptized! I CELEBRATE! Heck, there’s a celebration in heaven, why not on earth (Luke 15:7)?

People lose their freakin’ minds at football games—going shirtless, shaving their heads, painting their entire bodies, spending $$$ on memorabilia, screaming, shouting, crying, laughing, and shouting some more. And these same people show up at church with grumpy, constipated looks on their faces, arms crossed (or in their pockets) and complain the music is too loud or judge the people who raise their hands or shout for joy (“They just want to draw attention to themselves”).

Something’s not right…

Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”

The religious people said, “SHUT UP!”
Jesus said, “TURN IT UP!”

I don’t know about you, but I’m going with Jesus on this one.
