No matter how many times I tell my dog to stay out of the
bushes, he does it anyway.
No matter how many time I ask him to stop digging, he does
it anyway.
No matter what I say to him, he doesn’t listen.
No matter how many times I put up a fence to protect the
bushes, he breaks through.
No matter what I do, he does what he wants.
And regardless of his rebellion, I love him.
I don’t love him because he listens.
I don’t love him because he might stop.
I don’t love him because he is obedient (most of the time).
I don’t love the ideal version of him… I love him.
There’s nothing he can do or say that will make me love him
more.
He’s my dog.
Nothing can change that.
Not even the times when he walks in the house with muddy
feet.
Just so you know, God loves you just the same.
No matter what you do or what you’ve done or what you say…
nothing can make Him love you any more than He already does.
In fact, God has more love for you than you have the ability
to receive.
That’s love.
It isn’t based on an expectation, it’s who He is.
