Did you have a hero growing up?
What did they do that grabbed your attention?
What did they say that made you want to be like them?
What made them seem bigger than life?
Was it their accomplishments?
Was it their celebrity status?
Was it their generosity? Strength? Leadership? Looks?
What makes a hero a hero?
I think a hero is someone who’s willing to lay their life
down for others. They’re willing to sacrifice everything they have so someone
else can have a chance. They value life and not just their own, but the lives
of those around them.
That’s a hero.
A hero doesn’t talk about making a difference a hero makes a difference. A hero jumps at the opportunity
to do something. A hero takes action
whiles others stand around waiting for someone to do something.
That’s a hero.
I believe heroes don’t wait around for that big opportunity, that big chance to prove something. I believe
heroes help with the little things. They’re packing lunches and giving rides to
dentist appointments and helping with homework. They’re setting aside what they
want to help someone else get what
they need.
That’s a hero.
Chances are you know a hero. Chances you are a hero and don’t even know it. You
don’t have to get on TV or have your picture in magazine. You don’t need a
multi-million dollar contract or be on the news. You just need to be willing to serve others and do it.
Are you a hero?
Will you be one?
