Can we agree that most things in this world require a bit of
work? Whether it’s working to pay the bills or working at a relationship or
working on our recovery… the things we want MOST typically require the MOST
work.
I believe this is one reason we often struggle to accept God’s
grace and forgiveness. Shouldn’t we have to work for it? We work for everything
else. Did He really give His son for
me? Is He really offering me
forgiveness? What’s He want in return? What’s the catch?
That’s just it… there is no catch. God’s ways defy what we
see as the norm. He gives without expectation. He says, “Here’s what I’m
offering you; take it or leave it.” No hidden fees. No fine print. He simply
made a way and it’s up to us to decide whether or not we’ll follow it.
