Your Value Isn't Found In The Things You Do

Ever take on more than you could handle?
It’s an easy thing to do.
It often seems like the right thing to do.
You see someone in need,
You hear of someone in need,
And though you’re already doing a lot
You convince yourself you can take on just a little bit more.
A little bit more quickly turns into a BIG OL’ mistake.
Why do we do this?
I would like to suggest many of us feel a sense of VALUE from doing things for others.
Even when it’s to the detriment of ourselves (and those closest to us).
See what I did there?
When you take on more than you can handle, it doesn’t just affect yourself;
It affects EVERYONE around you.
And that weird sense of value you get from putting others before you
Ends of hurting those around you.
Your value isn’t found in the things you do
Not even the good things.
Your value is found in the God who created you, and loves you, and wants the best for you.
Learn to say NO.
Learn to LET GO.
If you don’t…
Eventually you’re going to burn out.
Eventually you’re going to ruin relationships.
Eventually you’re going to quit everything.

Where’s the value in that?
